Hokitika
Founded during West Coast gold rush in 1864, Hokitika was the hot spot for gold mining on the South Island and it still maintains that romantically rustic and adventurous atmosphere. With such a varried landscape, Ecotourism has really taken off in the area, making Hokitika a unique and worthwhile stop along the West Coast.
